Sipho Gumbo, the creator of Yangu Beauty, sought out a leading expert in skincare chemistry to help transform her authentic recipes into a skincare line for today's modern woman. At last, a skincare collection addressing the needs of women of color.
My name is Sipho Gumbo. I'm the founder of Yangu Beauty, a skincare line for women of color. I am from Zimbabwe and partly South Africa. I am putting on a Xhosa woman's outfit. This is an outfit that's worn by married women. I have most of my body covered up and I also have a hat on. The hat is a sign of respect just covering my head. The outfit for younger girls will be shorter and more revealing. I'm here in support of autism. I have two friends that have sons that have autism. One of them is almost 18 and I've seen the mom worry day in, day out. She worried whether he will be able to drive by himself, she worried if he could stay in school with everybody else, and now the worry is if he'll be able to go to college and be by himself. Our other friends have just started their journey. Their boy just started kindergarten two years ago and I think they are just going through the worries, the concerns that every parent who deals with autism is dealing with. I am here in support of autism.
