Solo is a R&B musical group. The original members were Robert Anderson, Darnell Chavis, Eunique Mack, and Dan Stokes. The group recorded their gold-selling debut album in Minneapolis and released it in 1995, with production by Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis.
My name is Dan Stokes and I'm a member of the R&B group Solo. I think strength is captivating, it's alluring, but it's pretty damn sexy. And when I think of people who exude strength, I think of someone like Serena Williams. I think when she's on the tennis court and her body is moving and she's hitting them balls and she's just flexing and I'm completely in awe, I'm completely captivated. I think of someone like Beyonce. I've seen her grow and when she hits that stage and she just owns her sexuality, that is sexy to me because it's a powerful moment. But also think of someone like, first time I ever saw Michael Jackson perform. When Mike hit the stage and he first hit that stage for like, a good 30 seconds, he didn't do anything. It just felt like forever. That was completely the illest moment I remember. And from that moment I wanted to be like Mike. I think music is very sexy. It can be empowering. And we wrote a song called "MF Keeper," which is sexy and empowering. It's empowering because we're standing in our truth and we're saying, this is who we are. We are men who are good men and we deserve to be loved and respected, so strength.
