Ari Gold regularly addressed being both Jewish and gay. He landed his first job as a professional singer by performing the lead role on the CBS Children's recording "Pot Belly Bear: Song and Stories". He also performed backing vocals for Diana Ross.

This is Sir Ari Gold, and I am part of One Gold Nation Under God. Sex is one of my favorite topics, really. It's a double-edged sword because gay men have been accused of being overly obsessed with sex. And then at the same time, what we're fighting for is about our sexuality, really. And there are many ways that gay men have liberated sexuality and I think have some things to teach heterosexual people about sex. And I think God, oh man, this is hard. I don't mean that as a porn. Sex! Sex like a porn star is really about living life to your fullest extent, I mean you have sex like a porn star, love like a movie star, live life to your fullest, No shame. I think we have to let go of the shame around sex. Gay men have been through a lot with regards to sex. So I invite you and invite myself to liberate ourselves and have sex responsibly with no shame.
