A Yonkers media personality is taking home the gold – and the platinum – for his nationally syndicated terrestrial radio show, "Shefik presents Invocation".
Shefik Macauley (who just goes by his first name) snagged not one, but three, MarCom Awards in an international competition for marketing and communications professionals.
More than 6,000 entries were received from throughout the United States, Canada and 17 other countries.
The MarCom Awards recognize outstanding achievement by creative professionals involved in the concept, direction, design, and production of marketing and communication materials and programs. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, public relations firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers.
Shefik's weekly show won two gold MarComs for certain episodes; the platinum was presented to the show's website under the category, "entertainment".
