My name is Neddy Smith, a composer, producer, and a bassist. Faith, for me, is a very interesting subject. What it does for me as a musical minister, it's allowed me to evangelize the truth of my heart. But more importantly, it gives me a sense of purpose. It give me a sense of direction. It tells me about someone like Solomon, who asked for three things in order to lead the people. He asked for knowledge, wisdom and understanding. When I think about knowledge, I think about information. Gathering of information one could go to the library and gain lots of knowledge. But without the knowledge, I mean without the understanding of that knowledge, it means nothing. So hence, understanding. Now understanding is about comprehension. And if you cannot comprehend all that information you acquire, to gain all that knowledge, you're still not purposeful in your desire. So I look at the next thing in order to acquire wisdom. Wisdom is how you implement all those information and the knowledge you gain from the experiences that you have acquired all these years in your existence. But in order to have the purpose, you have to have something deep within that drives you. I call it the driver. And that's what purpose of intent will allow you to have and move forward. Because without faith, you cannot go and do anything purposeful. So it is that faith, for me, that gives you the inner drive. Say I will not stop, I will move forward and do whatever it takes to get going.
