The winners of the 24th Annual Communicator Awards have officially been announced by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA). With over 6,000 entries received from across the United States and around the world, the Communicator Awards is the largest and most competitive awards program honoring creative excellence for communications professionals.
Media personality Shefik, a native of New York, has won an award in the 2018 competition for his nationally syndicated terrestrial radio show, "Shefik presents Invocation" (http://invocation.co). One Communicator Award of Distinction was presented to the radio show itself (under the category "Productions / Programs / News - Program").
In 2017, one Communicator Award of Excellence was presented to the radio show again (under the category "Productions / Programs / News - Program"), and an additional Communicator Award of Excellence was presented to the show's website at invocation.co(under the category "Websites - General - Entertainment"). The Communicator Award of Excellence is the highest honor that can be bestowed. This now brings the grand total to three Communicator Awards won overall.
Communicator Awards are judged and overseen by AIVA, a 600+ member organization of leading professionals from various disciplines of the visual arts, dedicated to embracing progress and the evolving nature of traditional and interactive media. Current AIVA membership represents a "Who's Who" of acclaimed media, advertising, and marketing firms, including PureMatter, Condé Nast, Disney, Republica, Sesame Workshop, MTV, Starbucks, Time Inc., Tribal DDB, Yahoo!, and many others.
