Mokay Kamara has over ten years of professional experience working in United Kingdom, United States, and West Africa, specifically in the pharmaceutical and hospitality industries. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from University of Manchester and a Global MBA at Thunderbird School of Global Management as a Presidential fellow. He is committed to improving the performance of organizations by inspiring the learning and development of their people.
During his four plus years as a pharmaceutical representative in New York City, Mokay displayed strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with various clients from diverse backgrounds. He spearheaded a pioneering business model across his district through effective communications and presentations for his peers, managers and regional director.
In 2010, Mokay decided to return to his home country of Sierra Leone as Assistant General Manager of a boutique hotel on west coast of Freetown. Shortly after, Mokay was promoted to General Manager, where he proceeded to lead a team of 60+ individuals. During which he was involved with the successful restructuring of the business whilst introducing new human capital development strategies, improved staff recruitment procedures and the cultivation of a "guest focused" company culture.
During the last two years, Mokay has cultivated his passion for Organizational Development and in particular Leadership Development. In conjunction with his MBA training he has consulted for clients such as Exxon Mobil, Africare, Hilton Worldwide, and Seed Spot.
Mokay has a strong desire to help people reach their potential, while enabling companies to align their culture with their strategic goals. He believes in the importance of conducting business with integrity and high ethical values, two attributes he seeks as he explores opportunities for his next adventure in his career.
