Michael G. Carr is a luminary for change and activist for acceptance. A noted stage play writer, producer, revered pastor, and entrepreneur, the New Jersey native has earned local acclaim in the theater community. As Founder of Initials Entertainment & Productions (IEP), he was able to quench his thirst for introducing the world of entertainment to a heretical genre of theatrical plays that entertain, inspire, educate — and often, unveil for public awareness and discourse socioeconomic issues plaguing civil society.
Serving as executive producer of his own stories-to-stage productions, Carr worked and collaborated with many globally recognizable names within the entrainment industry. Some of the names comprising the list of credit for Carr include: John Blassingame, Kedar Massenburg, Robyn Crawford, Emmy Award winning Bill Clark of NBC Editor; film director, writer, and producer Joshua Coates; screenwriter Dan Griffin; author and publisher Deborah Smith-Simpkins; produce, writer, and recording artist C. L. Carr of Cel Entertainment; Kojo Bentil; and Dr. Albert J. Lewis.
Despite his many business endeavors, Carr, who holds a B.A. in Theology, still manages to remain as a countable role model and active civic-minded member of society, while volunteering for various non-profit organizations and serving on countless Boards of Directors, including the African American Heritage Parade Committee, the Rainbow Coalition under the direction of the notable Reverend Jessie Jackson, and the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE).
