Gayle Turner

Gayle Turner was nominated for the Colorado Theatre Guild's Henry Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Musical. The role was Geneva Lee Brown, in "1940's Radio Hour", directed by Bev Newcomb Madden, at the Arvada Center. She has worked with musical director David Nehls and director Bill Castellino ("Smokey Joe's Cafe", "Abyssinia", "Little Shop of Horrors"). She is a multi-award-winning actress with the cast of "Constant Star", written and directed by Tazewell Thompson. International audiences will remember her performances in the Richard Allen Center's production of "Black Nativity" in Rome, Italy (co-directed by Morgan Freeman) and the New York Harlem Singers 2010 Asian Concert Tour with Philip Boykin (director). She is a new member of the Broadway Inspirational Voices with founder Michael McElroy.

Turner's performing background includes theatre, television, concerts, recording, commercials, and special events. Her music background is very diverse (Gospel, R&B, Jazz, Pop, Spirituals, Music Ministry, and Legit). She is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of New Rochelle and a Master of Arts degree in Media Studies from The New School. She is proud to have a recurring role as Officer Dominguez on NBC's "Law and Order SVU".

Turner performed in concert with composer Phil Springer in "Trunk Songs" at the Arbingdon Theatre in New York City and recorded "Wasn't It You".
