Hermes Creative Awards is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing, and design of traditional materials, marketing and communication programs, and emerging technologies. Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, public relations firms, graphic design shops, production companies, web and digital creators, and freelancers. The competition has grown to perhaps one of the largest of its kind in the world. A look at the winners shows a range in size, from individual communicators to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies.
Hermes Creative Awards recognizes outstanding work in the industry, while promoting the philanthropic nature of marketing and communication professionals. There were over 6,500 entries from throughout the United States, Canada, and dozens of other countries in the competition.
Media personality Shefik, a native of New York, won three awards in the 2018 competition for his nationally syndicated terrestrial radio show, "Shefik presents Invocation" (http://invocation.co). One Hermes Creative Platinum Award, one Hermes Creative Gold Award, and one Hermes Creative Honorable Mention Award (all under the category "Electronic Media - Social Media - Interactive Media - Audio: Program") were presented. In the 2017 competition, Shefik won six awards. This now brings the grand total to nine Hermes Creative Awards overall. The Hermes Platinum Award is the highest award that can be achieved in the competition.
Hermes Creative Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The international organization consists of several thousand creative professionals. AMCP oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges, and rewards outstanding achievement and service to the profession.
As part of its mission, AMCP fosters and supports the efforts of creative professionals, who contribute their unique talents to public service and charitable organizations. Over the past few years, AMCP's Advisory Board has given out over $200,000 in grants to support philanthropic endeavors.
