My name is Slikk Muzik, multi-platinum, award winning music producer. Work with a couple big people, Master P, Jamie Foxx, Babyface. Speakin' of Babyface, it's crazy how it even came about. About five years ago, I just packed all my bags, and I flew out to LA from Dallas, right? Man, I was like, "I'm not leaving "unless I get a record deal." End up going to like some studio session with one a the homies that night when I first got out there, and I was playin' some beats. You know, we was messin' around, just listening to some music, and one a the guys that was there, he was like, "Yo, you should come "by Babyface's studio tomorrow night." I'm like, "Okay, cool, let's do it." So I end up going, play some records. Lo and behold, Babyface actually walked in the studio. He didn't say too much, you know, he's a real cool guy. He don't do a lot a talking until he get to know you, but, you know, it was cool. I left, and like two, three days later, I end up gettin' a call actually from Babyface. He's like, "Yo I love what I heard the other night. "Can you come in and, you know, just start workin' with us? "No projects on the table, nothin', "you know, no expectations, just working." And I'm like, you know, I'm out here grinding, I'm tryin' to make it happen, so I'm like, "Yeah, sure, let's go." No hesitation, right, so, I go. I start workin'; I had a set-up in the studio. About a month, month and a half pass by, and, all of a sudden, Ariana Grande walks in the door, her and her manager. I'm workin' on a track, so, I'm like okay. They come in the studio, her manager comes up to me and is like, "Yo, we got to have that record." Well, I'm like, "Okay." So, we end up gettin' the demo cut to the record like three days later, and within another two or three days, Ariana cut the record, and it was bananas. She loved it, the label loved it, everybody loved it. Another three to six months the album comes out. Yours Truly, it was the Yours Truly album, her debut album. Man, it ended up goin' platinum. Number one on Billboard, and the record that I actually did for her was called "Lovin' It". So, it was just like, the way that everything just kinda happened, it's like all the stars aligned. Everything just came together at the right time, and it was mostly because I didn't give up. You know, I just kept goin' and kept strivin', and kept, you know, workin' and workin' and workin', staying encouraged in myself, motivatin' myself, and it just happened, and, the thing is, I didn't know when it was gonna happen, but when it did happen I was prepared for it. It's a blessing, I'm grateful.
